6 Down, 3 to Go!

We are at the 2/3 mark this week. Three months to go...so far yet so close! Seems like there is so much to do. This past weekend we registered at Babies R Us and Target. It was fun but overwhelming. We have no idea how to choose bottles! And that is just the beginning. Pacifiers, high chairs, monitors & diaper genies. Not things we have ever even thought about let alone shop for. We have also started to get the baby's room ready. We had to move everything from the office downstairs and moved the guest room to the office. The baby will get the old guest room. The next step is choosing paint and painting the room. Tiff is doing well but has started to get tired all the time again. Plus she has not been sleeping well, which means I have been sleeping even worse. That is ok though because I know that she needs her rest. Here are a few picture from last week. He's a Mover and a Shaker

We felt the baby move for the first time on January 1st. It was very exciting. We felt him about 5-6 times over about 5 minutes. He must have got tired because we waited about 15 minutes but never felt him again. He's going to be a powerful little bugger, they weren't little kicks. Tiff felt him again last night but he wasn't cooperating for dad.
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We spent about a week and a half with my family in Idaho. It snowed about 6 inches on Christmas Eve. When we got back we celebrated Tiff's mom's 60th birthday.

Marital Compromise

Anyone who knows us knows that Tiff loves the color red and I love the color blue. We all know she won when it came to choosing the color for the wedding. The compromise? Blue bedroom! So when it came time to decorate the Christmas Tree what did we do? Red, White and Blue? No...

The only bad thing is that we have twice as much decorations. So, you ask if we are tied? No way, baby boy means another blue room! Looks like I am ahead.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at the cabin with Tiff's family. We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed getting to spend time with family. On Friday morning, Tiff and I went out to the lake and saw 5 bald eagles. It was amazing! I can't beleive that I didn't get any photos of it. When we went to leave Friday evening, my car wouldn't start. We tried to jump the battery but it didn't work so we got to spend another night there. The next day we had the battery tested and it was bad so I got to buy a new battery. I guess that is better than having to spend $100s more on something else. Here are few photos from Thanksgiving.

It's a boy! We had our ultrasound today and found out that we will be having a boy. Tiff and I are so excited! As many of you already know, seeing these first images of your baby is an absolutely unbelievable experience. The little guy was quite active. Wiggling, kicking, waving his arms and at one point, he completely flipped around. Here are a few images from the ultrasound. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Long Time No Blog

It has been a while since I have posted an update. I'd like to say that it is because we are so busy, but I heard somewhere that your nose grows when you tell a lie. Plus Christmas is coming up and I think I need to be a good boy for the next six weeks. Nothing too exciting has taken place over the past two weeks. Last week Tiff got sick, then gave it to me. She thought she had it worse because she couldn't really take anything for it and I could. Well, a week and a half later, I am still sick. She only had it for about three days. Oh well, I am just glad that she didn't have it for too long as she was pretty miserable. We reached the 18 week mark yesterday and are only five days away from finding out the baby's sex. Our ultrasound is on Wednesday and we are both very excited to find out. I think my mom is even more excited though. I will try to get an updated posted as soon as I can when we find out.

Ginny Weasley

Tiff had what looks like a pretty fun Halloween party at work today (I actually worked at work today). Check her out, she was Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter. Her group went at the whole Harry Potter gang.

Zoinks...Early Halloween

Busy week. We passed week 14, went to the doctor and went to two Halloween parties. 179 days to go (mom, that does not mean 179 shopping days left). On Friday, we went to Tiff's monthly doctor's visit. Everything is going well and we got to see the baby again. The doctor had to use the portable ultrasound to see the heartbeat because the baby was hiding and she couldn't hear the heartbeat with the Doppler. Our next appointment is the day before Thanksgiving which is when we will find out the sex. On Saturday, we went to two different Holloween parties (I know, we are quite the socialites). Good thing I guess, because everyone keeps telling me to do everything we can before the baby is born. One of the parties was a 70's theme. Tiff and I were having a hard time finding 70's costumes so we went as Scooby and Shaggy (that's pretty 70's right?). Check us out, don't we look sweet!? I also included a picture of Tiff's brother Scott in his best 70's Bill Gates costume.

Pumpkin Carving

Tiff and I carved pumpkins today. While we were out yesterday, we stopped at the grocery store to pick up some pumpkins. We each searched for the perfect one (I spent way too much time on this, but then again, that's how I am). I can't think of the last time I carved a pumpkin, so I had a lot of fun. We bought a carving kit so we cheated on the designs. We are so proud of our skills regardless. Tiff also sorted through all the "guts" to separate the seeds and baked them. I expanded my skills and also carved a watermelen that has been sitting in our kitchen for months. Check out our masterpieces:

One Third of the Way There

We passed week 13 a few days ago. Our next doctor appointment is on Friday, I am little excited as it seems like forever since we were there last. Plus, its always fun to get the afternoon off from work. I am sure that soon enough it will seem like we are going all the time. All is going well. It seems like everyone we know is expecting as well. I think this makes it nice for Tiff because she has plenty of people to "compare notes" with.

Twelve Weeks

We reached the twelve week mark on Tuesday. That means we will be entering the second trimester soon and maybe (hopefully) Tiff won't be so tired. Although I guess I can't complain too much since she really hasn't been sick at all so far. She has had a non stop craving for Mac and Cheese for the last three weeks now. Tonight was the second time she has had it in the past week and she is a big fan of Trader Joe's frozen Mac and Cheese. One more week and we will be one third of the way!
