Happy Thanksgiving

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. We went to Tiffany's aunt's house for Thanksgiving this year. We were excited because this was the first time Little Destry would get to meet his second cousin Sadie from Maryland. They had a great time playing with each other and we had a wonderful time visiting with family and eating! It was really great to see Tiff's cousin Michelle, her husband TJ and Sadie.

Cr-Apple Cup 2008

Football in the state of Washington is a bit subpar this year. Going into this past weekend, the Seahawks were 2-8, the Cougars were 1-10 and the Huskies were 0-10. That's a pathetic 3-28. This years Apple Cup was renamed the Crapple Cup. The good thing, one of the teams had to win this week. Brian had a party so we went over to watch the game. We had a great time hanging out with everyone and were even treated to a good game. In the end, the Cougs won 13-16.

Little Destry Has Been Busy

He's at it again. This weekend he started sitting himself up and he recently started standing up holding on to something. Today, he pulled himself all by himself! The bad thing, it was so he could get into something he shouldn't. This past Friday and Saturday night he stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson at the cabin. We went down to pick him up on Sunday. While we were there we celebrated Jeremy and Bob's birthdays.

Uncle Scott brought Destry a fun toy from his trip to the Beijing Olympics. He loves his Ni Ni doll.

Anyone Need Some Water?

We have plenty! After days and days of rain and some flooding this past weekend, we got the big one today. Two of the roads leading out of Duvall were closed and the last one out was backed up as everyone was trying to get out. I left for work this morning at 7:30 but wasn't able to get out so I went home. Despite not getting more than a few miles from home, I didn't get back until 8:30. They are saying the Snoqualmie River is approaching record levels but was expected to crest near Carnation at 10:00am at a flood stage of 60.3 feet! As I am writing I am watching Fox News and they just showed aerial footage of the flooding here. Here are some photos I took this morning of the flooding in the valley.

These photos are of the road I usually take across the valley on my way to work. The bridge crosses, usually, the Snoqualmie river.

It's Been Awhile

I figured I'd better post since it has been awhile. Not much new and exciting going on. Little Destry has been eating like a horse, he really loves apples and bananas. Actually, he pretty much likes anything we give him. He is crawling around like crazy and getting into everything. I posted some new pictures in the November Album.

Check out this picture I took the other day. Destry was eating an apple and it slipped through his fingers. I caught the apple mid-air.

We Got a New Camera

I am so excited! I have wanted a digital SLR camera for some time now. Back when I was in High School I got into photography and really enjoyed it. For some reason, I stopped and have probably not touched an SLR for over 12 years. Now that we are taking so many pictures (one of the side-effects of having a child) I have wanted to get back into photography. Here is our new camera.

Even Tiff has been having lots of fun with it (much to my surprise). Here are some of my favorite photos we have taken so far with our new camera.

...is my two front teeth. Check out the little boy's pearly whites! Beleive me, getting a picture of these was harder than getting the first shot of the Jolie-Pitt twins.

Happy Halloween

I took the afternoon off and picked up Destry to go see Tiff at work for Halloween. Tiff's company really gets into Halloween. Each group dresses up and decorates with a theme. Tiff's group was the military, complete with tents, a ship and command center. There was also Pirates of the Caribbean, Mad Max, Monopoly, Peanuts, A Bug's Life, M*A*S*H and many others. It was amazing the work they put into their costumes and decorations. In the afternoon, everyone can have their kids come in to go Trick-or-Treating. The kids go to all the cubicles in each area to get candy. Destry dressed up in his Yoda costume so he could collect lots of candy for mom and dad. He (we) made out quite nicely. We all had a great time but were exhaused from carrying an 18 pound boy around for 2 hours.

Look Out World, He's Mobile

Little Destry starting crawling on Tuesday. We knew it was coming but were still quite surprised. On Tuesday night Tiff saw him take a few "steps". Later that night I saw him take a few in his crib. The next morning when I went to get him up, I saw him crawl the full length of his crib. That night when we got home from work, he was crawling all over the place.

Sweet Potatoes

On Saturday we started feeding Destry Jr vegetables. We decided to start with sweet potatoes. How did he do? Well, as you can see in the photos below, it was a bit rough at first. But by the end, he loved them. He now eats them like anything else and likes to try to feed himself. I think next week we will try squash.

Happy 1/2 Year Birthday!

That's right, Little Destry turned six months old this week. How did he celebrate? He started sitting up last Sunday, got his first tooth and went to the doctor on Tuesday, started eating vegetables on Saturday, got portaits taken today and got a second tooth tonight. Busy week huh? He also is SO CLOSE to crawling that we thought he would add it to his week of accomplishments. We don't have any photos of his new choppers though, he barely lets us get a look at them let alone get a picture. We did get him a fun new toy for his six months birthday. He loves to play with it but sometimes it scares him a bit. Here are some pictures of him playing with it.
