Nurturing Pathways class

Destry and I are in our second week of a Nurturing Pathways class for woddlers. It's a class that uses music, dance and rhythm for brain development. I found the class from a fellow Jazzerciser who is teaching the class.

Destry is enjoying the class and really likes the music instruments and the obstacle course. His favorite part is crawling through a fabric tunnel (I think he went through it 4 or 5 times).

I will post some pictures from our first class soon, and will try to take more pictures in the next few weeks of him in the obstacle course!

Playdate

On Wednesday Destry and I got to have a playdate with 2 of my old co-workers and their kids. The kids had a great time playing outside in the sun and getting into water, while the mom's had a great time catchin' up. Here are some pictures of the kids having fun.

With all the beautiful sun lately Destry and I have been really busy playing outside. We have been spending lots of time at Grandma Johnson's because she has a huge yard to run around in, lots of rocks, and tons of dirt. Below are pictures of Destry running around outside and "helping" grandma with yard work.

Jazzercise BootCamp Weekend

This past weekend I went to a Jazzercise BootCamp in Walla Walla Washington with a few of my jazzerbuddies/fellow instructors. We had a great time being silly, talking girl talk, doing Jazzercise and drinking wine!

The BootCamp was about 2 hours long the format was different than a normal class and sure give me a great workout. We did a few cardio songs then went to a station where we would work a specific muscle, then back to cardio and so on. There was also an instructor meeting about putting sets together and answering questions about all the rules that are confusing. After that we relaxed for a while before going to a reception at a local winery.

My 1st Shiner

Last night Destry Jr. tripped over Destry's foot and took a header into his plastic toy bin. He hit the corner of the bin just above his left eye and got his first shiner.

Usually when he falls it's no big deal, but this time he cried and cried. I was cooking dinner and didn't know what was happening, but once I heard him cry I knew it wasn't good. It immediately turned red, and this morning it was starting to turn purple. We are planning on getting his 1 year portraits taken this weekend so we may have a permanent record of his boo-boo.

Swim Class

For the past 2 weeks Destry Jr and I have been taking a parent/tot swim class twice a week. Destry really enjoys the class, he has a smile on his face the whole time. We do lots of singing, and playing with water toys. He loves splashing, jumping in, and drinking the water.

One Year Check-Up

Destry had his one year check up this afternoon. He weighed in at 21lbs 3oz (25%) and is 30 1/4 inches tall (50%). His nugget is still pretty small at 25%, he got his tiny noggin from Tiff. The Doc said that he looked great and everything was going well. He is doing pretty much everything he should be doing at this point. He got two shots today, both at the same time, he cried for a minute but was fine after the initial shock. This evening we had a guys night as Tiff was out with the girls at Bunko. We ordered pizza, watched Two and a Half Men, took a walk and played for a while before going to bed. Speaking of Two and a Half Men, I swear he sings the theme song. When even it comes on he swings his head to look at the TV and starts to sing. It's too funny.

Another Tooth Post

Feels like I write this post every few days. Destry got his 10th tooth on his birthday. He now has the front four on both top and bottom plus two molars on the top.

Chompers

Destry now has 9 teeth. Last week while trowing his head back and crying I got a peak at a molar that poked through. It's on the top left side and who knows when it broke through. His 9th tooth is his front bottom right tooth and it came in on Saturday, which helps to explain why he was not feeling well at his birthday party.
