Walk This Way!

Destry is walking. He's not walking all over the place yet but he is taking several steps at a time now. He walked a little bit on Friday but wasn't feeling good that night and Saturday due to a stuffed nose and incoming teeth (#3 came in last week and #4 is on the way). He was feeling much better today and was pretty much his normal self. Just before bed we tried to get him to walk again. After a few tries, he took 6-7 steps. We even got it on video. Check out Destry walking.

Starting to Walk!

On Friday afternoon Destry took 3 steps! My mom, Destry and I were in a Weight Watchers meeting (yes the meeting had started) and he was playing with my mom. He let go of my mom and took 3 steps to get to me. It was so exciting, the meeting leader and a few other members saw him do it. He earned a silver star and claps from the room!

Unfortunately, today he isn't feeling well so he hasn't done any more walking. He cut his 3rd tooth about a week ago, and today we think he's cutting his 4th because he's had a little fever and has been really cuddly.

Our Little Helper

Destry loves to help Mama and Grandma. Lately he wants to help out when I do laundry and the dishes. Here are a few pictures of him helping out!

Gallery Update

I have been a bit behind with adding to the gallery. Plus, I haven't added pictures from Tiff's camera since late December. So, I have added a few new pictures to December's album, finished January's album and started February's album. We are now up to date.

So Close

Destry has been doing a lot of standing and is so close to walking. Friday night Destry (big) saw him take his first step. Unfortunately, I missed it because I was at Bunko with my Jazzercise friends, but I got to see him take a step yesterday, and today.

He's not a huge fan of standing on his own unless he has something to distract him. If he has something in his hands, especially a cell phone, ball, or the remote control, he can stand for 60+ seconds.
So proud to be standing on his own.
Almost falling over...

Recovering

While loading the pictures, Big Destry saw him take 2 steps! Yeah!

Nine Month Portraits

It's that time again. I have added a new ablum of Destry's nine month portraits. You can see them here: http://picasaweb.google.com/destry21/NineMonthPortraits#.

Happy 35th Birthday!

Today is Destry's 35th Brithday. I hope he has a wonderful day and all his birthday dreams come true!

9 month checkup

Yesterday Destry had his 9 month check up. The Dr. said he looks perfect and is growing nicely. He's 19 lbs 14 oz (40%), 28 1/2 in. long (50%), and his head is 17 1/2 in (25%). He's tracking the same each check-up with the exception of his length last time when he was in the 75% percentile so they think the last nurse what a bit generous.

He seemed to have a good time in the Dr's office and the only part he didn't like was his shot, but he only cried for a second then was back to playing. He's such a good little boy and we are really lucky.

Fun filled day!

Destry had a big day yesterday. First we went to Jazzercise and for the first time he played in the back room with the babysitter and a few other kids. It's the first time he has been watched by someone he doesn't know, so I thought he may do a lot of screaming. Not the case yesterday, the babysitter said he was good the whole time so I'm happy that I can go to Jazzercise more often!

After Jazzercise we went to my mom's house and met up with Lori and Samantha (11 months) for a play date. The kids had fun playing and getting into things. Their favorite toy was the stairs. They both had a great time climbing up them. They were so cute together, and my mom was so happy to have all of us there.

While playing with Samantha, Destry started clapping for the first time. It was so cute. Sam must have taught him how. They were doing a lot of talking.

It's My Son in a Box

I know, every kid loves boxes. But ours likes to be in boxes. Don't get me wrong, he likes to play with them as well, but it always seems like he ends up in them. Check him out.

In a box for "indoor Sledding".
In a box lid.
In a TSA bin at the airport.
A variation on Son in a Box, Son on a Box.
And here is my favorite. He combines Son in a Box with his other favorite pastime, climbing. He was climbing on his toy box and fell into it. From there, he climbed out and up onto the recliner.

A White Christmas...

isn't always what its cracked up to be. Those of you in the Seattle area know what I'm talking about. We were delayed in Idaho Falls for three extra days because of the conditions in Seattle. We actually had more snow in Idaho but without all the hills and with enough equipment to deal with it, it really wasn't as bad. We were scheduled to get back in Seattle Sunday night around 4:00. With the three day delay and an addition 4 hour delay on our next filght, we finally arrived in Seattle around 8:00 on Christams Eve. However, because of the snow, we were not able to get home to Duval until Friday night. We statyed at Tiff's parents until the conditions got better.

Check out the snow on these fenceposts.

A huge drift in the backyard. You can see the grass in the foregound. The drift was over three feet tall.
